The Captain America: The Winter Soldier trailer has arrived!
Today Marvel has released a new UK version of Captain America: The Winter Soldier trailer with lots of things going boom.
However beyond the explosions and actions scenes, the two minutes twenty seven second mini film highlights the conflict between freedom, fear, and changing “American values”, as espoused by Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) and Alexander Pierce (Robert Redford).
It also looks at Steve Rogers (Chris Evans still filling out several Captain America suits and his leather jackets nicely) as someone displaced in time, someone who wants to fight for what he believes in, even as those beliefs run counter to his missions. There are hints that they may follow some of the graphic novel “The Winter Soldier” but then again, with it not coming out until April 4, 2014, there is still lots of time to tease us. And give us more explosions.
