More ‘Beetlejuice 2’ News! And A Sort Of Confirmation.
Beetlejuice 2 is, once again, almost happening. But even moreso.
To further expand on the post I wrote in November about the possibility of the film, which was admittedly kind of vague (I’m holding onto hope, don’t judge), we now have some official quotes from Michael Keaton via an interview he recently had with MTV.
I’ve emailed Tim a couple of times, talked to the writer a couple of times, but all really, really preliminary stuff. I always said that’s the one thing I’d like to do again, if I ever did anything again. But it kind of required Tim to be involved some way or another.
Now it looks like he is involved, and without giving too much away, we’ve talked to each other, and emailed each other, and if he’s in, it’s going to be hard not to be in.
Eeee!
But what, you ask, has become of our dear Lydia? Here’s what Winona Ryder had to say a few months ago:
“I’m kind of sworn to secrecy, but it sounds like it might be happening. It’s 27 years later, and I have to say, I love Lydia so much. She was such a huge part of me. I would be really interested in what she is doing 27 years later.”
Ryder also added that the film would NOT be a remake. Yay.
Tim Burton has been working on Big Eyes, a film about painter Margaret Keene, starring Amy Adams, Krysten Ritter and Christoph Waltz. No official word yet on his next project.
…Beetlejuice Beetlejuice Beetlejuice! *crosses fingers*
