Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D made a promising turnaround, making a second season a safe bet.

Late Thursday night, Marvel announced that ABC will renew it’s hit show Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D for a second season! After having somewhat of a rocky start, the show started picking up ratings after the release of Captain America: The Winter Soldier in theatres early April. Incorporating the HYDRA storyline gave S.H.I.E.L.D a much needed boost, making it a safe bet for a season renewal.

Hayley Atwell will reprise her role as Agent Peggy Carter in Marvel’s Agent Carter.

Marvel also announced the same night that Marvel’s Agent Carter has been picked up! The series was a reported possibility back in September 2013 but no official word has been released on it until recently. Hayley Atwell will reprise her role, from 2011’s Captain America: The First Avenger and in the Marvel One Shot short film that tied in with Iron Man 3, as Agent Peggy Carter and the series will follow her adventures forming S.H.I.E.L.D post-World War II.

It’s a good day for not only Marvel but DC as well; this announcement from Marvel came the same day that DC announced the series orders for The Flash, iZombie and Constantine, The CW for the first two and NBC for the latter. Fox’s Gotham also received a series order and released a first trailer for the series, while Arrow had been renewed by The CW back in February. This means that there are a total of 7 series based on Marvel and DC headed to the 2014-2015 season.

No word on the premiere dates for these shows but stick around and we’ll keep you updated!

I’m so glad to see Marvel pick up Agent Carter! DC, come on, we NEED a Wonder Woman movie! Marvel and it’s TALKING RACOON is doing a lot better than you guys right now.
