If Nothing Else, the Cast is Gorgeous: New Vampire Diaries Season 3 Pics

“The Vampire Diaries” is the CW series that took us by surprise, another show about vampires for the young adult set in a sea of many. TVD quickly broke out of the mold proving within the first episodes that there was more to it than the extremely good looking cast offering a rich new take on vampire/werewolf/witch mythology, delivering plenty of gore, violence and more twist and turns a minute than most shows on the air these days.

Going into it’s third season TVD shows no signs of slowing down, we’ve got vampires, werewolves, originals, witches, doppelgangers and possibly others all finding themselves in Mystic Falls, Virginia (probably host to a Hellmouth along with Sunnydale & Bon Temps).

While season 2 left us enough cliffhangers to have us theorizing all summer, these shots from the season 3 premiere “The Birthday” show us that the kids of Mystic Falls have put aside their supernatural woes, good-vamp turned evil boyfriends, and general slaughter of their family and friends long enough to remember Elena’s 18th birthday and plan a party.
