Arrow: Beacon of Hope Review
Do you want a summary of this week’s episode of Arrow?
Sure I’ll summarize it for you:
Laurel screamed at Oliver to kill the bees inside him.
I know what some of you are thinking: What about the ongoing issues of Oliver and Felicity? What about the flashbacks to the past with the island and the evil magic totem? What about Damien Dark?
The thing is, since season 3 began we’ve witness a steady and gradual decline in quality in Arrow. The writers paired Felicity and Oliver together to satisfy a remote internet demographic despite every critic condemning the development. We watched Ra’s Al Ghul be employed and dispatched with less attention and character development then Slade Wilson. We have seen characters have lengthy speeches about their personal motivations and opinions only to flip them at the start of this season and then flip back.
But all of that, all of that evidence doesn’t quite have that strong raw punch as the solid sentence of: Laurel screamed at Oliver to kill the bees inside him.
Nothing, nothing in this world exemplifies the absolute decline and sudden drop of this show then that sentence. What possible thing could you say to so accurately show how far the show has drifted from its original course.
Some of you may argue this progression is natural and shows growth. That’s malarkey. This is clearly and tangibly a decline and if you really don’t believe me let me write this sentence again.

You may be saying but wait they are robot bees and it’s a sonic attack to break their frequency and all of that lovely justification that tries very, very hard to make this sound less stupid. And if you are caught by that wisps of smoke and bullshit let me write this sentence once more.

You might be saying that they used a sonic attack in Flash to kill the Time Wraith and that’s basically the same thing. First of all, not only does it mean we have a repeating solution from one show to another in the same week (and that’s terrible) even if the methodology is comparable it we still have this sentence.

This show has jumped the shark. Just let it go. Because, Laurel screamed at Oliver to kill the bees inside him. I don’t care what every other web publication out there is saying right now about how this was a fun, exciting episode (it was not), or anything like that.
