Batman Returns Catwoman Cosplay by Violet Love

With con season officially upon us, it’s time for all the great cosplay that comes with it! Toronto has no shortage of cosplay talent including our friend, the up and coming Violet Love. Violet’s no stranger to the costuming scene, having run her own clothing label and designing costumes for others. She’s now turning that talent to her own costuming and loving every minute of it!

We recently had a chance to chat with Violet about her amazing Batman Returns Catwoman cosplay, love of Batman, and future cosplays.

What inspired you to do the Batman Returns Michelle Pfeiffer version of Catwoman?
I grew up watching Batman Returns, and Michelle Pfeiffer’s version of Catwoman is just so badass and raw. She embodies what I always imagined a live action Catwoman should. Basically she’s my dream girl

Was this shoot your inspiration for your upcoming pin-up version of Catwoman? Can you tell us a bit about that?
Absolutely! I love catwoman and I love pin up. What better way to play up her innate sexuality then to put her in lingerie and a string of pearls?

You’ve cosplayed other Batman villains, who’s your fav and why?
So far Harely Quinn is definitely my favourite. Psychotic, childlike sometimes whimsical and she gets to be secret girlfriends with Poison Ivy

I hear you’ve got a bit of a Batman fetish… What is your favorite version of Batman in comics or movies and why?
Favourite comic version is more about art for me. Jim Lee’s Batman is the front runner there. When it comes to live action Batman, Christian Bale takes the prize. I really think he managed to pull of a great distinction between Bruce Wayne and Batman.

Any upcoming cosplays we should keep our eye out for?
I’m most excited to show my Vampirella, Starfire and Julie Newmar Catwoman next!
