So Bobcat Goldthwait Made A Bigfoot Movie. Awesome.

Just when you think two totally separate awesome things couldn’t possibly go together – for example, (former) comedian/actor Bobcat Goldthwait, and the infamous cryptozoological legend Bigfoot.

BUT WAIT! It’s a thing!

Enter Willow Creek, a found footage film sprinkled with a few dozen actual (yeah…) Bigfoot witnesses.

Jim and his girlfriend Kelly are in Willow Creek, California, to retrace the steps of Bigfoot researchers Patterson and Gimlin, who, in 1967, recorded the most famous film of the legendary monster. Kelly is a skeptic, along for the ride to spend time with her boyfriend between acting gigs. Jim, a believer, hopes to capture footage of his own, so his camera is constantly rolling.

The trailer is very Blair Witch-esque, (which honestly, scared the holy ever-living fuck out of me because I saw it when it first came out and thought it was real…don’t make fun of me, it sucked.) so it looks like it’ll be a good time.

Personally, I find Cryptozoology absolutely fascinating. I also find the people who are so often interviewed about seeing any creatures related to the field equally fascinating, if not even more so. Having Bobcat Goldthwait direct something like this is bound to be funny, if not straight up weird.

Which I also like.

Willow Creek is going to premiere at the Fantasia Film Festival in Montreal. Not sure when it will be released to the rest of us, but I’ll keep y’all posted.
