Joss Whedon’s ‘Much Ado About Nothing” Gets a June Release Date
Attention Whedonites, get ready to mark your calendars, this is the announcement for 2013 you’ve been waiting for.
Lionsgate and Roadside Attraction have slated Joss Whedon’s modern adaptation of “Much Ado About Nothing” for theatrical release June 7, 2013!
Produced by Joss Whedon and his wife, Kai Cole with co-producer Daniel Kaminsky, Much Ado About Nothing was shot over 12 days in the Whedon family home starring Whedon regulars Amy Acker, Alexis Denisof, as sparring lovers Beatrice and Benedick plus plus outstanding performances by Nathan Fillion, Fran Kranz, Jillian Morgese, Sean Maher, Clark Gregg, Reed Diamond and Tom Lenk.
Much Ado has its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival in Toronto in September to a theatre full of die-hard Whedonites and more than a few Shakespeare fans. I was lucky enough to snag a last minute ticket to the event and was absolutely blown away.
The question now is, when can we start pre-ordering our tickets.
Until then let’s grab our copies of “Much Ado” and start our own Shakespeare reading groups to pass the time Whedon-style. Also click over to read my review of Joss Whedon’s Much ado at TIFF!
