Things We Saw At Fan Expo Canada Day One

The first day of Fan Expo Canada was more action packed than we had anticipated. By 4pm the floor was buzzing with fans of all flavours and even on the first, short day, fantastic cosplay was everywhere!

The Marvel booth held a birthday party for Spider-Man on his 50th complete with red-velvet cake and the birthday boy’s father/creator Mr. Stan Lee. The crowd was so thick that even my attempts to lift Jess cheerleader-style to grab a photo were unsuccessful, you’ll just have to take our word for it. We totally saw him. It happened.

Over at the DC side of comics there are lots of sweet comics to grab:

The cosplay! We saw lots of Doctors, Daleks and even a very scary Weeping Angel. An amazing Emma Frost and Imposter Batman, that’s just to name a few.

I fell in love with the adorable Dr. Horrible from Squire Sword only to be doubly won over when noticing tiny Jayne (and other members of Serenity’s crew), tiny Spike, and tiny Walt & Jesse of Breaking Bad.

Lots more was happening all over the convention floor. We saw game tournaments start their engines, the chance to be inserted into a scene from a horror film, we’re pretty sure we saw an enormous game of kinect-four happening and tons of giveaways.

Let’s not forget the DeLoreon from Back to the Future, the Art of Frankenweenie Exhibit, the Artist Alley, Celeb Q&As, Photo Ops and signings all to come this weekend at Fan Expo.

We’ll be at booth L56 (right outside of Hall G) all weekend long and hosting the Official Fan Expo Canada Kick-Off party tomorrow (Friday) night at Tattoo Rock Parlour (19+ doors at 9pm).
