WATCH: True Blood Season 5 Trailer

HBO premiered the season 5 trailer for True Blood during the Game of Thrones premiere tonight (April 1st, it’s no joke).

Religion has always played a very interesting role in True Blood from the  religious townsfolk exemplified by judgey Mrs. Fortenberry; to Vampire Bill speaking at the monthly meeting for Descendents of the Glorious Dead as an actual Civil War vet the local Church back in season one while assuring them that their symbols will do him no harm; to the very existence of the Church of the Sun.

The language in trailer indicates there will some major religious themes coming to play in this season and will continue to explore the question of the right to exist and what it means to coexist. There doesn’t appear to be any shortage of sex, blood and violence either.
