The Iron Throne heads to Vancouver for an All-Day Game of Thrones Fan Extravaganza

Toronto isn’t the only Canadian city getting the Westeros treatment. West coast Game of Thrones fans are getting a visit from the iconic Iron Throne straight from the set of the HBO’s  hit fantasy series.

On March 23rd  the Iron Throne will be on display in Vancouver at VIFF’s Vancity Theatre where fans will have the opportunity  get their picture taken by a professional photographer while seated upon the Iron Throne and watch  a marathon screening of Game of Thrones season one.

The event will also be the venue for the final battle in the “Own the Throne” contest, a live strategic game of Musical Thrones where the ten finalists will battle their way to the title of  King or Queen of the Seven Kingdoms and collect a royal prize including a $1000 gift card, Game of Thrones Season 1 on DVD, and an A Song of Ice and Fire book set autographed by George R.R. Martin.

The first episode of the marathon begins at 8am sharp and each screening begins right on the hour. The swag doesn’t stop at the “Own the Throne” battle, the first 40 fans to be seated at the 6pm screening of the season one finale will score a box set of Game of Thrones season one on DVD.
