Awake Gets Premiere Date & Extended Promo
NBC has finally given Awake, one of my most anticipated new shows of the 2011-2012 season, an air date! Awake is set to premiere March 1st bumping the flailing Firm (starring two of the Canadian Cylon contingent) out of the 10pm Thursday time-slot to Saturday nights.
Awake is an alternate reality drama starring Jason Issacs, as Michael Britten, a cop who after getting into a serious car accident with his wife (Laura Allen) and teenage son (Dylan Minnette) finds himself living in two separate but equally “real” realities simultaneously, one in which his wife survived, and one where his son is still there. Both seem as real as the other, each with separate complexities, in each he still has his job as a detective, but with different cases, though certain key details seem to bleed through.
Guided by a different psychiatrists in each life, it’s unclear what exactly is happened, and what is real. In what may be the only humorous moment in the trailer each psychiatrist assures Michael that their reality is truly the real one in the exact same way. Michael responds dryly, and it’s clear he has no intention of giving up either.
Watch the extended promo after the jump.
