5 Movies To Watch On Halloween, If You’re Staying In
So it’s Halloween and you don’t feel like going out, what should you do? Watch these 5 movies and enjoy some candy all to yourself! There are plenty of Halloween films to watch, new and old, but I’ve compiled a quick list of the films that most people seem to watch the most on Halloween.
Let us begin…
(Also, I’m not necessarily ranking the films, just putting them in order of what got the most votes when I asked people)
1. The Nightmare Before Christmas
This is one of those films that can not only be watched on Halloween, but also during Christmas! It’s a classic. Jack Skellington is one of the most beloved characters and his love for wanting to bring Christmas to Halloweentown is heartwarming and awesome. This is the perfect film to watch with the little kids in your family if they aren’t trick or treating.
2. Halloween (Original One)
It’s not Halloween without this classic John Carpenter film. It’s one of those films in which literally everyone on planet earth has seen. It’s almost a guarantee that you’ll see someone dressed as Michael Myers roaming the streets on this night. The film stars Jamie Lee Curtis, Donald Pleasence and many others.
3. A Nightmare on Elm Street
One, two, Freddy’s coming for you.
Three, four, better lock your door.
Five, six, grab your crucifix.
Seven, eight, gonna stay up late.
Nine, ten, never sleep again.
I think that song is enough to make you want to watch. Freddy kills people in their dreams, so don’t fall asleep!
4. The Exorcist
You must watch this film. That is all. Classic.
5. Psycho (Original One)
This is a Alfred Hitchcock classic. Anthony Perkins did a phenomenal job portraying Norman Bates. Also, that shower scene with Janet Leigh is one of the most iconic scenes in film history.
Here are a few honorable mentions of some other classic films you can watch on Halloween: The Shining, Friday the 13th (original one), Poltergeist, Hocus Pocus, Halloweentown, The Rocky Horror Picture Show, Dracula, The Monster Squad, The Lost Boys, Trick ‘r Treat, Pet Sematary, Night of the Living Dead, Dawn of the Dead, Saw, Hostel, 28 Days Later, The Mist, The Thing, Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, Creature from the Black Lagoon, The Last Man On Earth, House on Haunted Hill, Bloodlust, Attack of the Giant Leeches, The Amazing Mr. X, The Bat and many many more.
