$1 Billion Star Trek Resort? Only if it’s like Risa 4!

Aqaba, Jordan??? Aww c’mon, what about us Trekkies (or Trekkers or whatever you want to call yourselves) on this side of the ocean? You think we have teleporters over here? For $1 billion I bet I could build you one, maybe two even. Whether or not they work is a completely different story but they’ll look really cool!

Hotelier Middle East reports that:

The Star Trek-themed centre will deliver a variety of multi-sensory 23rd-century experiences, culminating with a state-of-the art space-flight adventure that takes real-time immersive entertainment experiences to bold new heights.”

Rubicon Group Holding is the company behind this $1 billion, 184-acre resort in the Red Sea port city of Aqaba in southern Jordan, due to be completed in 2014. Called the Red Sea Astrarium, it is going to prominently feature a Star Trek attraction (built by Paramount) based on J.J. Abrams version of Star Trek. Wait what??? NERDRAGE ALERT!!

What about the original Star Trek, or even TNG. TNG!!! I need some sexy Picard’ness!
